Where We Are Located
Fun Prints Photography is located in Austin, Texas, off Loop 360, a few miles
from Barton Creek Mall, in the home studio of photographer Deanna Roy. You
will receive complete directions when you make an appointment.
Scheduling a Sitting
Appointments are required and can usually be scheduled a few days or a week
or so in advance. Christmas appointments, however, should be made by
mid-November to ensure a spot will be available. You may email Deanna or call
(512) 347-0081 to schedule a sitting.
You can stay up to date on Deanna's specials by joining the mailing
list. It has a safe unsubscribe feature so you can take yourself off the
list at any time. (I try not to get too wordy--I send about 10 emails a year,
almost all of which will include a lesson on how to take better pictures with
your own camera.)
How We Operate
Each portrait sitting takes about an hour. Parents may choose as many outfits
or backdrops as we can get in before your child is done!
Typically we will begin with the most important pose. Children usually take
their best pictures in the first 15 minutes before they get bored with their
surroundings. We will move through poses, pausing for breaks for the baby to
explore, get calm, or have a snack.
Once the photo session is over, the parents will view all the pictures and
choose the poses they want on the proof sheet to take home with
them, and which to order for portraits. Portraits take 7 to 10 days to arrive.
Corporate headshots take about an hour from the start of the shoot to handing
you a retouched image on CD.
Location Sittings
Fun Prints often schedules sittings at many other
locations around town. With these sittings, you will receive a proof portfolio to order
from. Costumes and digital work are not usually combined with outdoor portraits
unless I am having a special just for that purpose.
For more information on braving the outdoors, see the page especially about planning
your outdoor shoot.
Tips for a Successful Sitting
Realize that we have seen it all--temper tantrums, toddlers that run all over
the room, babies that won't give up the pacifier, parents who are tired and
worried that we think they're bad parents, and everything in between. Deanna has
never had a session that did not result in pictures, and we do whatever it takes
to get a nice set of poses. Here are some things to keep in mind:
